Company Overview

Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc. is a technology company focused on the design, manufacture and marketing of products using proprietary strengths in infrared imaging and associated technologies.  CTI has developed unique products based on infrared imaging servicing healthcare ( sports medicine, pain management, breast imaging, ) and industrial non-destructive testing.  Each of our products address significant needs and offer compelling benefits to large and growing medical and industrial markets.

Computerized Thermal Imaging™, Inc., was founded in 1987 by partners who recognized that thermal imaging coupled with sophisticated computer software could differentiate healthy from suspicious tissue. Further investigation indicated that data generated by the CTI system could help physicians detect many diseases, disorders, and injuries within the body’s physiological, neurological, and vascular systems that are rarely detected or confirmed with conventional imaging systems (X-ray, CT scan, or MRI).

Realizing that this non-invasive, painless imaging system could be applied to the public good, CTI has placed its primary focus on sports medicine, physical therapy, and pain management practices.  In addition, CTI is pursuing its original goal of providing technologies dealing with breast cancer detection. The emotional and physical trauma suffered by more than a million women in the United States each year is well documented. Women, their families, and physicians recognize the need for more accurate non-surgical methods of differentiating malignant from benign breast tissue masses.

In April 2000, CTI acquired Bales Scientific, Inc. This acquisition provided CTI with important thermal camera and infrared therapy technology. In addition, Bales Scientific's expertise in the development of industrial systems provided a foundation for the company's pursuit of this new and important market.
